YOUR ATTITUDE
Want to rivet your listeners to what you're saying? Then answer, out loud and early, at least one of the following set of questions:

Why is your material relevant to them and to their work?
How does it add value?
How can they apply it personally?
In other words, what MEANING does this have for your listeners?

OR
Why is your material useful to them?
What purpose does the information serve?
Where does it fit into the larger context of their work or their lives?
In other words, how can your listeners MAKE SENSE of what you're saying?

The really top-notch presenter will answer BOTH sets of questions.

Stating the answers to these questions early in your speech, boldly and directly, gives the listeners the answer to their critical question: "Why should I listen to this?"
